LOOF
The Federation for the Management of the Official Book of Feline Origins, more commonly known as LOOF, has been entrusted with the management of the feline breed registry in France since 1996.
The primary mission of the LOOF is to maintain the Stud Book, that is, to issue pedigrees for purebred cats in France. Without a LOOF pedigree, a cat born in France, even if its parents have pedigrees, cannot be called a "purebred cat," but only, if applicable, a "cat of similar appearance." (Decree No. 2008-871 of August 28, 2008).
